Shooting fire plumes

How it's done. "Special effects" without a computer.

This section publishes photographs taken using a variety of know-how, or rather some special - sometimes quite clever, sometimes unexpectedly simple - techniques that allow you to get one or another visual effect, an unusual lighting solution, etc. “live”, right in the process of shooting. .d., which, it would seem, can only be realized as a result of complex computer manipulations. All “secrets” are revealed in detailed descriptions, “reports from behind the scenes”, which will allow any interested photographer to repeat such “special effects”.

SHOOTING SETTINGS: F85 mm, f/8, 1.6 sec, ISO100

CONVENTIONAL SYMBOLS: 1 – monoblock with reflector and curtains, pulse off, bright pilot light on 2 – area illuminated by pilot light from source 1 (limited by curtains) 3 – monoblock, softbox with honeycombs, 300 J pulse, pilot light off 4 – monoblock, pulse disabled, dimmed modeling light turned on, aimed at the background

This photo was taken without using Photoshop. Its technical implementation is based on an understanding of how the camera shutter speed works, how the frame is exposed, and how constant and pulsed light can be combined in one exposure.

Shooting takes place at a long shutter speed with rear-curtain flash synchronization (i.e., the pulse fires at the very end of the shutter speed). During exposure, the model moves through a spot of constant light 2 , due to which a beautiful trail is formed behind it. The movement of the model is shown in the photo with a red arrow. At the end point of the movement (and the end of the shutter speed), the impulse of monoblock 3 - which “freezes” the model and makes its image clear and unblurred. The combination of blur and a clear image of the model at the same time makes this photograph.

The room where the shooting takes place should be dark. Because When shooting takes place at a shutter speed of more than a second, the general light of even a dim light bulb will overexpose the photo and/or disrupt the light pattern we need.

It is necessary that the blurred area and the area where the model is clearly depicted do not intersect. If they intersect, a “trail” of blur will pass over the clear image of the girl. Therefore, it is necessary to isolate the area of direct light from the area where the model is located at the moment of the impulse (in this case, at the end of the movement and at the end of the shutter speed). For this purpose, curtains are placed on source 1 , which limits the area it illuminates to area 2 .

The camera is mounted on a tripod, because the shutter speed is very long - and its shake is undesirable.

Monoblock 3 has fabric honeycombs installed so that the pulse light hits only the model, but not the background.

To prevent the picture from appearing “flat,” we use source 4 with a reflector aimed at the background. It creates a small spot of light - to the left-bottom of the model in the main photo. And thereby adds spatial depth to the frame.

And finally, the “fiery” color of the blur trail and the light on the background is due to the fact that we use monoblock pilot light. Because it is very “yellow” (at least for the Rekam monoblocks used) and does not match the color temperature of the monoblock pulse light - it creates not white (neutral), but a fiery red color, which can be seen in the photo. In our case, this was an idea, not a mistake.

3 monoblocks, studio, black or dark gray background, tripod, Canon EOS5D camera.

There is an idea - to initially illuminate the person with a flash.
And then rotate the details.
In total, we see the model’s face in the photo.
Or an easier option is to take several pictures and stick the successful one to a long shutter speed.

The modern Internet world is filled with various blogs. Who is a video blogger? This is a man who took a camera and started filming what was happening around him.

Video bloggers are divided into many directions, radically different from each other. Recently, the Internet community has been infected by children's themes; this direction is in demand and gathers its fans. Video blogging has grown recently, and most resources are simply filled with such content. We are no exception and will be happy to bring to your attention different areas of video blogs on one site.

Some bloggers choose a topic in which to spin and develop. For example, film criticism. The most popular and highest quality critic on Russian YouTube is Evgeny Bazhenov (Badcomedian), and on American YouTube - Nostalgic Critic (Douglas Darian Walker). Such people improve the quality of their own content with each review, learn new techniques and are an example of proper video blogging.

Informational blogs can also be noted. This is essentially the same news, only on behalf of ordinary citizens, and not corrupt media. In such videos you can more or less assess the reaction of the people to a particular law, or to the situation in the country or the world. In addition, you can easily get information that a modern zombie box (TV) will not tell you about.

They have affected all areas of our lives, and if you dig deep on the Internet, you can find the most useful and rare reviews. Sometimes you can even be surprised how people manage to talk so much about rare things.

However, there are very good bloggers who do not produce narrowly focused content, but simply share their interests with people. But most importantly, they do it very well, flavoring what is happening on the screen with various funny inserts or witty jokes. Such content is also uploaded to our website and may be of interest to everyone. Here everyone can choose a loved one and monitor all his actions on the Internet. With the help of our page, you can constantly receive a new portion of funny stories or fascinating information from your favorite video creator.
