Reviews of Casio Exilim EX-ZR200

Advantages:
All the advantages are inherent, which have already been described more than once in both this model and the ZR100 - speed, wide-angle lens, clear photos, capacious battery (1800 mAh), etc. I will concentrate on the disadvantages.
There is some mode in which the zoom can be up to 25 (maybe 12.5 and 18.8) and this is WITHOUT taking into account digital zoom (i.e. after these numbers there is also the possibility of digital zoom).

Disadvantages:
1. Still, the noise of the matrix is present from ISO800 and higher, especially if you shoot in a dimly lit room and without flash.
It can be seen if you enlarge the photo on the screen as much as possible when viewing it (i.e. almost under a microscope), it looks like scattered metal shavings. 2. In the corners, the clarity “floats” a little, especially in the top left and bottom right - I saw it on all models, I especially paid attention, again it is visible when shooting test tables at maximum photo magnification.
3. Your own USB “connector”.
For some reason, the adapter is such that you can only charge via a USB cord, but you cannot insert the battery into it. 4. It was not possible to charge using any “Chinese” standard USB charger - the light that shows the charge on the phone does not light up.
It’s strange, because all other devices are charged from these chargers (standard output - 5V, 500-1000mAh). They charge from the computer. 5. When shooting with flash in a room illuminated by poop lamps, the BB turns into a “golden hue”.
I couldn’t win - I tried it with all BB modes, including manual. I won’t say that it’s annoying or ugly, but it’s strange. 6. There is no 1280x720 video mode, i.e. 1980x1080, and then 640x480.
7. There is no stabilizer - whether it’s on or off, I didn’t notice any difference.
If there is “stir”, then it is also present with the stabilizer, specially imitated. Although this is not as noticeable on a computer screen as on a camera screen. And on the computer the colors are not as bright as on the camera screen. 8. When shooting video, you can use the zoom, but although it buzzes quietly, when recording in complete silence, the buzz can be heard in the recording.

Comment:
I have been a fan of Casio for 10 years now, since its first “masterpiece” Casio QV-R3, then EX-P600. So, I compared it with my “old man” Casio EX-P600, which I also considered “impeccable” and which is rated quite well in terms of quality among digital point-and-shoot cameras. What can I say, heaven and earth. The P600 at ISO 400 has all the photos in noise - blue-red-green dots that are visible even on its 2.7″ screen without zooming in, but at ISO 3200 there are small black pins if you zoom in on the photo at maximum when viewing it on a 3″ screen. Well, and the wide format of the lens - the photo contains twice as much information (the view being shot).

Pros:
Gorgeous camera. Ideal for travel and everything in general. Very fast. Turns on quickly, focuses quickly, takes photos so quickly that you don't even notice. Many different interesting modes, including panorama. The photos come out very good. It’s clear that it’s not a DSLR, but the quality, coupled with speed, functionality and small size, is much more convenient than a DSLR in many situations. The video turns out good. Photos in night mode are also good. And a very wide viewing angle! In general, I'm delighted. The white body is simply beautiful. The second-by-second mode, or as it is generally called the plague, captures moments, and then all that remains is to choose the best one. By the way, this mode eats up a lot of memory; in a week on vacation I spent 16 GB, including video, and various photo modes. For a long time I tossed between Sony and Nikon with removable lenses and this model, but I decided that I would not overpay the extra money and bother with these lenses (additional size), and I am very pleased with my little white camera, I recommend it. I've been using it for a little over a month.

Disadvantages:
I don’t even know what to write here. Well, there are some shortcomings, but there is no perfect soap dish!

Advantages:
Compact, fits comfortably in the hand, not too heavy, fast, multifunctional.

Disadvantages:
First - expensive, very expensive for a soap dish, second - the photo leaves much to be desired, the images on the photo camera are much brighter, after transferring to the computer the images are very faded and mediocre. I compared it with photos of my first Sonya soap dish, which was a gift 8 years ago, and I was even more upset, there was practically no difference, and even with magnification, it turned out that blurriness occurs faster on the Casio. I didn’t find anything new or improved in this camera. It's a pity for the money spent.

Comment:
I wanted to pay extra and get a Canon PowerShot G12, but it turned out to be heavier and more bulky, so the choice fell on this model. I will try to use this camera to its full capacity, if something goes wrong, I will return it and I will not regret it.

Advantages:
1. Turns on very quickly and focuses in good light conditions.
2. In daytime outdoor conditions it works great up to ISO 800 inclusive.
3. Good for traveling, with a fresh battery, if you don’t zoom often, it actually takes 480 shots, or 350-370 shots when recording video for 20-25 minutes, or 280-300 shots when recording video for 40-45 minutes.
3. Good pictures in HDR mode, but HDR Art is not very good, this is only for landscapes, and only for those who like photos like solarization.
4. Panoramic shooting sometimes exceeds 360 degrees.

Disadvantages:
1. Works well in outdoor conditions only during the day with good lighting.
At dusk, in low light or indoors, the device is no longer good: no sharpness, no color rendition, and most importantly, decent noise appears. It’s better to never shoot anything at ISO 1600 and higher. 2. Over the course of six months, the battery reduced its capabilities from 480 to 420-430 shots.
And what will happen next? 3. In automatic video mode, if the object moves even a little, the device constantly works in search of sharpness, so the video is almost always blurry.
4. When viewing photos and, especially, videos, the battery, when fully charged, is discharged by 50% in 10-12 minutes.
If the green color of battery charging has changed to yellow, then it is better not to view anything at all and constantly turn off the device. 5. When shooting with flash, the interval between photos is at least 7-8 seconds, and the flash operates at a maximum of 4-5 m.
6. When shooting in high-speed shooting mode (30 fps), the battery lasts for 40-50 shots!
Horrible! 7. You can only use optical zoom, i.e. up to 12.5x, but with digital zoom terrible blur and noise immediately appear.

Comment:
From the above it follows that this device is only for shooting in daytime conditions in good light and on stationary objects. A soapbox is just that: a soapbox.

Advantages:
1. Very fast, takes photos quickly, focuses, and by the way, the flash charges quickly, unlike Samsung.
2. Easy to use, everything you really need is located on the top of the wheel.
3. A powerful battery, one of the best in its class, charges like a mobile phone via USB.
4. Good image stabilization, before this I knew that there was only digital and optical zoom.
Casio turns out to have a third type of stabilization, high-speed. And it really works. 5. And of course, the quality of the pictures is at the highest level thanks to the highly sensitive CMOS matrix. When I took photographs on the street, a photographer friend at first did not believe that an ordinary soap dish could do this.

Disadvantages:
Of course a bit expensive, 11,999 rubles. But this is probably at the start of sales, although due to such a price I could not find competitors.

Comment:
I have been planning to buy a Zoomer camera for a very long time.
But due to the fact that my wife and I are going on vacation soon, we had to make an urgent decision. After analysis, the following cameras were selected from each manufacturer: Canon 230HS, Panasonic TZ20, Casio ZR100, Sony HX7, Fujifilm F550.
Of course, I started with Canon, but after I saw its pictures on the computer, I didn’t want to take it.
It only shoots well on the screen; in reality, there are a lot of overexposed and blurry photos. Then I looked towards the tz20, the same problem, the automatic machine does not always work correctly, and I don’t see the point in setting it up myself at that price.
Then the sellers said that the ZR100 from Casio has the best automatic settings.
I looked at it on the computer and liked the pictures in terms of detail and color rendition.
Sony has the same good automatic machine and functionality as Casio, but their unnatural color rendering discouraged any desire.
Fujifilm is a good camera, but in terms of speed it is not even close to Casio.
When I came to buy the Casio ZR100, the Casio ZR200 appeared in Mediamarkte, which was already 500 rubles more expensive.
But after comparing the two cameras, I chose the ZR200, since it can be charged like a mobile phone and added the blurred background function. The picture was taken as if it were a DSLR. A very impressive feature.

Pros:
Good photos, very fast, rich functionality, excellent battery.

Disadvantages:
The price is high, although I am not an expert in cameras, but I think such a unit should cost less.

Comment:
I bought it to replace my old Canon Power Shot A410, which worked faithfully for about 5 years and safely broke (something with the matrix).
I just wanted a powerful battery, all other things being equal (I was tired of depending on batteries and an outlet).
I settled on Casio because I heard a lot from a friend who also had a similar device about the excellent battery performance.
I took it and don’t regret it!
A whole day of filming (more than 300 photos were taken and about 30 minutes of video was shot) only drained the battery by half.
The photos turned out pretty good, and this is considering the fact that I haven’t fully figured out all the functionality yet.
I recommend it, great item!

Pros:
The pictures, especially in HDR mode, are impressive (weigh up to 15 MB). However, all the proposed modes are good at the right time. Good quality video. The operating speed and battery capacity are unrivaled.

Disadvantages:
Not all players play the MOV format, I use JetAudio. Image stabilization is not at the highest level. That's all.

Comment:
Judging by the parallel filming of one event, the pictures are almost in no way inferior to a DSLR. The owner of the latter was sincerely amazed. I am completely satisfied with the camera and recommend it to everyone.

Pros:
Very comfortable, multifunctional and ideal indoors

Yesterday I took photos of my wife at the holiday, the photos are beautiful

Review of the compact camera Casio Exilim EX-ZR200

Casio's photographic division is in decline: new models appear rarely and do not please, as they used to, with innovative achievements. Others are completely difficult to distinguish from each other and from versions of previous seasons. However, the universal travel cameras of the ZR series initially turned out to be so good that they still deserve attention.

16.1 MP 24–300 12.5x 3” $370

The Exilim EX-ZR200, for example, features a fast, high-resolution sensor, a comfortable wide-angle zoom and exceptionally smart electronics. In terms of intellectual content, story programs and interesting filters and effects in image processing, Exilim cameras remain unrivaled. Another important characteristic for travelers also looks enviable: the ZR200 takes almost five hundred frames on a single battery charge!

Only the camera optics are perceived as not very modern. Of course, the 24–300 mm range covers the reasonable limits and needs of many amateur photographers. But competitors have already learned to make lenses with 16x and 20x magnification.

Casio Exilim EX-ZR200 - bet on speed

Sergey Verveyko

07 June 2012

The competition in the compact ultrasonic segment is so tough, and prices and characteristics vary so little that sometimes the choice is determined not by the parameters that are important for photography, but by additional, secondary functions. Therefore, in order to stand out and attract the attention of the buyer, you need to offer as many additional features as possible. Moreover, it is desirable not only to ensure the flawless operation of add-ons such as face detection and other similar “trinkets”, but also something more useful and significant.

This time we got our hands on the Casio Exilim EX-ZR200 ultrasonic with 12.5x zoom. In fact, Casio has left the zoom race and now the maximum zoom ratio on the company's ultra-compacts is exactly 12.5. Whereas competitors have compacts with much larger values - 18-24. In addition, Casio compacts, including flagship models, do not have a GPS receiver, the presence of which has already become a de facto standard for the top representatives of the ultrasonic lines.

And everything would be fine - after all, not everyone needs a GPS module and the opportunity to purchase a camera, saving on recording geotags, will be a plus for some. But in terms of price, the camera comes close to the same top-end models of competitors, equipped with both a GPS module and a lens with a much higher magnification. With such close competition, the camera must somehow stand out from its competitors in order to justify its cost. One of these differences is speed, which is so lacking in most ultra-compacts. Firstly, the camera turns on in 0.98 seconds, the delay between frames is only 0.27 seconds, and autofocus is simply amazing at 0.13 seconds! However, all of these are statements from the manufacturer that we have yet to verify.

But that’s not all, because the camera is equipped with a battery with the largest capacity in its class of 6.7 Wh, which is already comparable to the battery capacity of mirrorless cameras, and all compacts are hopelessly behind here. Don't forget about HDR mode and high-speed photo/video shooting, where Casio was a pioneer with its F1 model.

⇡#Supply set

The camera package is quite modest - a battery, USB charger, data cable, a couple of brochures, including a user manual, and a disk with additional software. It is noteworthy that the package does not include an A/V cable. Apparently, the manufacturer implies that such atavism is no longer needed. But then why is there no HDMI cable included?

⇡#Appearance and ease of use

A camera worth more than 11 thousand rubles, as you would expect, is enclosed in a metal case. Of course, metal is not an indicator of cost, because Chinese no-name cameras costing less than $100 also sparkle with metal surfaces, but it’s still a plus. The build quality is high, the gaps are uniform, all the elements fit in place like a glove, and only the battery compartment cover has a slight play in the connecting loop. The paintwork is matte, but fingerprints are still clearly visible on it, which is helped by the black color of the case.

In addition, dust is extremely actively attracted to the body panels, so the camera has to be wiped periodically. But what the camera is worth praising for is its resistance to scratches - the device can easily be carried in your pocket with a bunch of keys and not a single scuff will remain on the body. The only thing that can let us down here is the display, or rather its protection, made of rather soft plastic that is easy to scratch. In general, it is advisable to use a screen protector.

In front there is only a lens and a flash window with an integrated autofocus illuminator LED.

At the back, to the right of the display, there is a standard set of keys for Casio compacts: switching to photo mode, a video key, the usual 4-way round key, as well as buttons for viewing and entering the main menu.

On top there is a pair of microphones, a high-speed shooting key between them, a round shooting mode switch, power and shutter buttons - the latter is surrounded by a zoom control.

Below is a standard set consisting of a cover for the battery compartments and memory card, as well as a metal mount for a tripod and a system speaker.

View left and right

The left side surface is empty, and on the right there is an eyelet for a lanyard and a rubber plug that hides the HDMI and USB/AV cable connectors (the latter is also used to charge the battery).

Pros and cons of CASIO Exilim EX-ZR200

1.Very fast, takes photos quickly, focuses, and by the way, the flash charges quickly, unlike Samsung. 2.Easy to use, everything you really need is located on the top of the wheel. 3.Powerful battery, one of the best in its class, charges like a mobile phone via USB. 4.Good image stabilization, before this I knew that there was only digital and optical zoom.

All the advantages that have been described more than once in both this model and the ZR100 are inherent - speed, wide-angle lens, clear photos, capacious battery (1800 mAh), etc. I'll focus on the shortcomings. There is some mode in which the zoom can be up to 25 (maybe 12.5 and 18.8) and this is WITHOUT taking into account digital zoom (i.e. after these numbers there is also the possibility of digital zoom).

The pictures, especially in HDR mode, are impressive (weigh up to 15 MB). However, all the proposed modes are good at the right moment. The video is of good quality. The operating speed and battery capacity are unrivaled.

4. When viewing photos and, especially, videos, the battery, when fully charged, is discharged by 50% in 10-12 minutes.
If the green color of battery charging has changed to yellow, then it is better not to view anything at all and constantly turn off the device. 5. When eating

The first is expensive, quite expensive for a soap dish, the second is that the photo leaves much to be desired, the images on the photo camera are much brighter, but after transferring to the computer the images are very faded and mediocre.

It's strange, because... all other devices from these dawn

The price is a bit high, although I am not an expert in cameras, but I think such a unit should cost less.

Not all players play the MOV format, I use JetAudio. Image stabilization is not at the highest level. That's about it.

I don’t even know what to write here. Well, there are some shortcomings, but there is no perfect soap dish!

Review of the Casio Exilim EX-Z2000 camera

In the digital camera market, Casio has long been known for its innovative yet very compact models. It became the founder of cameras with ceramic lenses with a high refractive index, as well as devices for slow motion and the first so-called blade zooms - compact cameras that are much thinner than even the most compact ultrasonics.

Casio has quite a few interesting and inexpensive compact cameras. And the Exilim EX-Z2000 model we are considering today is also stylish and functionally rich.

The camera's performance is truly outstanding for its class. Judge for yourself: a 14-megapixel CCD matrix with mechanical stabilization, a 5x zoom lens with a very pleasant coverage of the focal length range from wide-angle position (26 mm) to telephoto position (130 mm), HD video shooting with a resolution of 1280x720 and at 30 frames per second. And the final touch in the form of a 3-inch display with an excellent resolution of 460,000 pixels will allow you to see all the details of your photos.

Appearance and functionality

The EX-Z2000 model was presented this year and for its price it is a very “dense” solution, moreover, not without an elegant appearance. The camera comes in several colors: red, purple, pink, blue, black and silver. The body of the device is completely made of metal, and only the plug at the top is made of plastic. The weight of the model is 149 g. The camera weighs pleasantly on your hand, but does not strain it.

Casio Exilim EX-ZR1000 - compact camera review

The Japanese company Casio knows how to create a wide variety of compact cameras. Its assortment also includes the cheapest items, intended for beginners and older people, for whom the quality of the final images is not at all important. Casio also has those cameras that girls should like. But models equipped with advanced functionality are more popular. However, such cameras are relatively expensive. For example, the average price tag for the Casio Exilim EX-ZR1000 is 10 thousand rubles. What will the buyer get for such a lot of money?

The camera's equipment is quite simple. The box along with the camera contains a neck strap, a small instruction manual, a USB cord for synchronizing with a PC, a battery, a USB adapter for charging the battery, and an AC power cord. We need to tell you something about the battery right away. It is made using lithium-ion technology. Its capacity is so high that a full charge is enough for about 500 photos. This is an excellent indicator for a compact camera. Travelers and tourists, who are sometimes very far from power grids, will be especially happy about it.

Travelers most often take pictures not only of themselves, but also of various animals. The most difficult thing to photograph are birds, which you almost never manage to get very close to. Therefore, a traveler’s camera must have a decent optical zoom. And the Casio Exilim EX-ZR1000 does not fail here. Its lens allows you to take advantage of 12.5x magnification. The focal length range is 24-300 mm. As for the aperture ratio, everything here is also quite good. It has a range of F3-F5.9. Everything could have been even better, but for such a decent zoom the developers had to increase the number of optical elements to nine lenses. By the way, they are all aspherical.

But no lens will help a traveler if the camera does not allow him to see the subject of interest in all its glory. A viewfinder is ideal for this purpose. But nowadays compacts are equipped with it extremely rarely. Unfortunately, the Casio Exilim EX-ZR1000 does not have a visor installed either. Therefore, you will only have to use a three-inch display. But it has a tilt mechanism, and this significantly expands the number of angles from which the photographer can take his shots. It's a pity that the screen resolution here is not the maximum - it reaches only 460,800 pixels.

Files are saved to the built-in memory. But it is only 52 megabytes, so you can save only a little more than a dozen pictures. But you can insert a memory card into the camera at any time. SD, SDHC and SDXC standards are supported. Thus, you can insert a 64 GB card into the camera. In this case, there is enough space for several thousand pictures and several hours of video recordings.

Even the cheapest compact cameras have now learned to record video. But the Casio Exilim EX-ZR1000 costs about ten thousand rubles. So, the video quality here should be at the highest level? In principle, such words apply to the resulting video image. The resolution is a fair 1920 x 1080 pixels. The frequency reaches 30 frames per second. And if you lower the resolution, you can achieve accelerated shooting (up to 240 frames per second). Continuous recording for 30 minutes is possible. During video shooting, you can use the zoom, and autofocus continues to work stably. In a word, everything is very good. The good news is that there is an optical image stabilization system that successfully combats image shaking.

The captured video can be quickly transferred to a computer using a USB cable. If you don’t want to wait, you can quickly connect the camera to your TV using an HDMI cable. But you need to buy it first, as it is not included in the kit.

As for the internals of the Casio Exilim EX-ZR1000, they are among the most modern. Shooting is carried out using a CMOS matrix. The only confusing thing is that with a 1/2.3-inch diagonal, the sensor has a too high 16.1-megapixel resolution. Why the matrix was equipped with so many pixels is unclear. Because of this, sensitivity has decreased quite significantly. The camera has an ISO range of 80-3200, which is not the widest for a device of this price. However, throughout its entire length the quality of photographs can be called quite satisfactory. Even at the extreme value, the noise level does not rise above a certain level. If you are shooting at night, you can try using the extended ISO mode, in which you can set the values to 12800 and even 25600 units. But it is worth noting that in these cases the picture will make too much noise. It is better to use lower values and the built-in flash at night. By the way, it is extremely powerful, its range of action reaches 4.7 meters.

Is the Casio Exilim EX-ZR1000 camera worth the money? This question is not easy to answer. If video shooting is important to you, then you should like this device. It's even better if you use burst mode often. The fact is that this camera is capable of shooting up to thirty frames per second! But otherwise, this is a typical compact with a not very large matrix, albeit created using modern technology. In short, it will not be easy for an ordinary person to decide on such a purchase.

Judging by the parallel filming of one event, the pictures are almost in no way inferior to a DSLR. The owner of the latter was sincerely amazed. I am completely satisfied with the camera and recommend it to everyone. Read more

  • The pictures, especially in HDR mode, are impressive (weigh up to 15 MB). However, all the proposed modes are good at the right moment. The video is of good quality. The operating speed and battery capacity are unrivaled.
  • Not all players play the MOV format, I use JetAudio. Image stabilization is not at the highest level. That's about it.

On the P600 at ISO 400, all the photos are in noise - blue-red-green dots, which are visible even on its 2.7″ screen without zooming in, but at ISO 3200 there are small black needles, if you zoom in to the maximum. • All the advantages that have been described more than once in both this model and the ZR100 are inherent - speed, wide-angle lens, clear photos, capacious battery (1800 mAh), etc. I'll focus on the shortcomings. ; There is some mode in which the zoom can be up to 25 (maybe 12.5 and 18.8) and this is WITHOUT taking into account digital zoom (i.e. after these numbers there is also the possibility of digital zoom).
  • 1. Still, the noise of the matrix is present from ISO800 and higher, especially if you shoot in a dimly lit room and without flash. It can be seen if you enlarge the photo on the screen as much as possible when viewing it (i.e. almost under a microscope), it looks like scattered metal shavings. ; 2. In the corners, the clarity “floats” a little, especially in the top left and bottom right - I saw it on all models, I especially paid attention, again it is visible when shooting test tables at maximum magnification.

I wanted to pay extra and get a Canon PowerShot G12, but it turned out to be heavier and more bulky, so the choice fell on this model. I will try to use this camera to its full capacity, if something goes wrong, I will return it and I will not regret it. Read more

Read more

  • 1.Very fast, takes photos quickly, focuses, and by the way, the flash charges quickly, unlike Samsung. ; 2.Easy to use, everything you really need is located on the top of the wheel. ; 3.Powerful battery, one of the best in its class, charges like a mobile phone via USB. ; 4.Good image stabilization, before this I knew that there was only digital and optical zoom. Casio turns out to have a third type of stabilization, high-speed. And action.
  • A little expensive, of course, 11,999 rubles. But this is probably at the start of sales, although due to such a price I could not find competitors.
