Price. The camera was purchased for 800 hryvnia, i.e. at that time 100 dollars (now it would be less than 80). The device has no equal in its price segment.
Many people are now suffering from “DSLRs”. I’ll tell you, as a person who has a DSLR (and which, thanks to this Canon, is gathering dust in the box) - to achieve the same photo quality, blur and clarity, you need to invest at least 3 thousand dollars (this is for the amateur level, for the professional you will need a more expensive matrix + all sorts of softboxes/flashes/reflectors, in general, at least 5 thousand USD)
Appearance. The camera feels nice in the hand. I would say that this model is more feminine, but, for example, 110 is more likely to be masculine. In terms of functions, the cameras of the entire line are practically the same, so it is better to choose not by type, but by what is cheaper.
Functionality.
The camera has 6 automatic programs and 4 manual ones.
Automatic:
Auto mode - well, it’s clear that you don’t need to do anything. Press the button and tell me how bad the photo is and enjoy
Simple mode - how it differs from Auto, I still don’t understand, but it has a beautiful icon - with a heart
SCN mode, also known as Scene, also known as Portrait - the flash does not turn on so as not to hurt your eyes, a very low ISO is automatically set, everything is fine (people who complained about portraits, as far as I understand, did not see this button).
Let's move on, Fisheye Mode. This seems to be a feature of this model; others do not have it. Looks funny (the first time 20 times, then not used). For the same reason, I once again advocate not going too much into the minor differences of the entire line, but simply saving money. It looks as if there is a round lens installed in front of the lens, i.e. something like this:

Quiet mode - also James Bond's best assistant - shooting without any sounds (in case you decide to catch your husband or children helping him steal a cake from the refrigerator )
Video mode. It is positioned as a model with HD video, but in reality you are unlikely to notice with the naked eye much of a difference between camera video with a resolution of 720 or 640. The video mode is activated with a quick button (that red thing in the photo) from any mode, which is convenient if necessary photograph the remains of the ill-fated cake
Manual:
Program. Allows you to set white balance and ISO. You don’t have to set it - then it will be set automatically. About white balance - this is quite important in this case - since all Canons, as for me, are guilty of overexposing the frame.
Shutter priority, also known as TV , allows you to change the shutter speed in the range from 15″ to 2500. A high shutter speed gives something like this:
But a fast shutter speed will allow you to get even this (try taking a photo like this on a DSLR with an 18-55 kit lens - I will laugh in your face. The best thing you will get is a yellow spot like a fly).
Aperture priority, also known as AV, is a value from 3.4 to 8.0. Allows you to create a beautiful “mirror-like” blur outside the object you are focusing on.
Manual, also known as completely manual , allows you to control all possible settings at the same time. If you are not too lazy to tinker, and the object of your photo hunt does not run away, this mode will delight you with photographs of the best quality.

+ if you are not a professional photographer who makes a living from photography (you don’t take pictures of Naomi Campbell, do you?) - this is the optimal camera for you in virtually all respects;
+ if you want to not just “press a button”, but learn something, this is the ideal camera;
+ if, after all, you are a woman and you don’t like carrying a 2-kilogram camera with you every time, gracefully running after a bird with it, this camera is ideal for you.
Minuses:
— Among my friends there are 2 more owners of this camera (models 110 and 130). Over 3-5 years of use, none of them have ever complained about a single glitch that occurred.
Conclusion:
The best device in terms of price-quality-convenience-opportunities.
PS Photos are not processed. Yes, for a tasty result you need good light and for your arms to grow from your shoulders, but this is up to your luck, and the camera itself is not responsible for this!

The quality of the photos, for me it’s frankly green, shooting in the evening ensures a non-acidic graininess. Plus slow autofocus. If you shoot a video, your batteries will die in 4 minutes. That is, filming a video is a little problematic.

+ Doesn’t consume much battery, at least it will take 600 pictures on one charge. Batteries SAMSUNG 2700mAh.
+ Stabilizer is a necessary thing in the household.
-Not the best screen. It's big, but the resolution is not enough.
- Constantly buzzing stabilizer. It doesn't really bother me, but it's annoying.
-There is no continuous shooting speed (1fps), and this despite the fact that the camera runs on a DIGIC4 processor. The same processor powers cameras such as the 50D, 60D and 5DmkII, and many other DSLRs.

I use it as a second camera in addition to the 7D, which is not always convenient to carry with me due to its large dimensions and weight.

LCD screen and video recording
The SX150 IS is equipped with a display that is quite modest for these times. The 3-inch LCD screen has a resolution of only 230 pixels, so individual pixels are clearly visible on it, which naturally negatively affects the display quality. In addition, the display does not have an anti-glare coating. Accordingly, in direct sunlight, assessing exposure using such an LCD screen becomes problematic. Viewing angles are also unimpressive, making overhead or waist-level shooting difficult. At the same time, the camera naturally does not have an optical viewfinder.
The video recording mode is standard. The maximum image resolution is 1280x720 pixels. A special button on the device body is responsible for starting instant recording of high-quality HD videos with stereo sound. There is the possibility of autofocus during video recording, as well as dynamic and enhanced image stabilization for shooting on the move. The now popular function of simultaneous video and photo shooting is not available in the SX150 IS camera.
Shooting modes
The compact camera Canon PowerShotSX150 IS can definitely be recommended to beginning photographers, because this device is easy to learn and has an intuitive interface. For beginners, there is a SmartAuto auto-tuning mode, in which the camera uses the scene recognition system. For example, if there are people in the frame, the camera automatically switches to “Portrait” mode with all the ensuing settings. Depending on the shooting conditions, the camera can independently select one of 32 scene programs.
Compared to the previous generation camera, the SX130 IS has added four new modes, which mainly relate to tracking objects moving in the frame. In addition, the SX150 IS's user interface offers helpful tips to help you quickly become familiar with the camera's capabilities and learn how to take better photos in a variety of shooting situations.
For more advanced users, the camera has a manual mode, which means the photographer’s hands will be completely free, he will be able to freely control various settings and focus manually. Among the capabilities of the SX150 IS camera, it is worth noting the face recognition mode, complemented by blink and smile detection functions.
In this mode, the camera automatically detects the faces of people in the frame and recognizes smiles - as soon as one of the people being photographed smiles, the device takes a photo. To turn on the timer when shooting group portraits, you just need to wink at the camera, that is, blinking initiates the start of the self-timer. This timer also starts when a new face is detected in the frame. All these features allow you to take great family photos without any extra effort.

A feature of the PowerShot SX150 IS that you need to pay attention to is that it does not use a proprietary battery, but standard AA size (LR6) power sources. The use of conventional batteries as a power source allowed the manufacturer to somewhat reduce the cost of a compact camera, because there is no traditional charger and battery. But this decision seems quite contradictory.
On the one hand, AA batteries will be very convenient for those people who travel a lot, taking a compact camera with them. Power supplies of this type can be purchased almost anywhere in the world and are widely used. On the other hand, the resource of such batteries is consumed almost instantly - just a few dozen frames and the batteries can be thrown away. So you will always have to take at least two sets of batteries with you. If you use rechargeable power sources of this type, then you will have to purchase a charger and a set of batteries for the camera, which will result in additional costs. Whether using batteries as power sources for a compact camera is a plus or a minus is up to each user to decide individually.
To summarize, it can be noted that there are no revolutionary changes in comparison with the SX130 IS model. However, the Canon PowerShot SX150 IS camera boasts a good optical zoom, thoughtful ergonomics, an advanced stabilization system and a user-friendly interface. The disadvantages of the camera are its not the most compact dimensions and a more than modest LCD screen. But these shortcomings are fully compensated by the low price of the device. Obviously, in its class of compact ultrazooms or travel zooms, the PowerShot SX150 IS model will be in great demand on the market.
